Adopt the Internet Day is coming!

Petfinder Adopt-the-Internet DayIn a few short days the internet will be over-run with cats and dogs. Cue the music to Andy Williams’, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” (that’s right, even better than Christmas!). In honor of their 15th birthday, PetFinder is “asking people everywhere to pledge to spread the word online about adoptable pets on March 15, 2011.” It’s called Adopt the Internet Day.

The Other Winnie Cooper blog will be participating, not just once, not just twice…ALL DAY long! I will post local (that’s Vermont, in case you didn’t know) adoptable pets all day long on the blog as well as The Other Winnie Cooper’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. By the way, if you work in a shelter or rescue organization in Vermont and know an adoptable pet that is on PetFinder that you think I should feature--please email me, and I will get in touch.

Are you wondering what you can do to participate? Go to PetFinder’s website and check out all the ways to get involved (and by taking a pledge that you will tell one person about pet adoption on March 15, you'll also be entering for a chance to win one of 10 Pet Hair Eraser® Vacuums from BISSELL—Hello, SCORE!).

And just to be an early bird, I thought we would get this party started right here, right now:

Meet Jimmy Choo, he’s available for adoption from All Breed Rescue in South Burlington, VT.

Feel free to love me,
I am available. And adorable.
See you back here on the 15th. It's gonna be epic.
