Travels

Yesterday we took a little road trip to my Mom's house with Winnie Cooper in tow. I foolishly didn't take any photos, but you can read about Winnie's adventures at Grammie's house from our last trip: here. Winnie had a very good time because her nemesis friend, Shiloh the beagle was outside in her dog house for the whole visit. Meaning: Winnie got Grammie all to herself! By the end of the visit Grammie was trying to trade Shiloh for Winnie.

Today I leave on a week long trip, the first half of the trip is a conference in San Francisco, the second half is a quick excursion to visit friends in Oregon. This trip is following closely on the heels of my one week vacation to North Carolina at the end of February...and I am feeling very guilty for leaving the dogs and kitties again so soon. I really have no earthly idea how people with human children can cope with traveling. Andy, my bf, is here to take care of everyone while I am gone, so I know that they will be kept in the manner they have become accustomed to, so it's really just that I will miss them terribly (and Andy too of course!).

Anyone have any tips on traveling and leaving pets behind? Do you feel guilty? Do you ever find a way to enjoy the pet free time?

Who wouldn't miss this?

  1. I always feel guilty when I leave Banjo and Millie behind (even while I'm at work during the day!) It can definitely be nice to not have to worry about rushing home to walk the dogs during a "pet-free time," but other than that I wish they could be with me all the time!
